Questions:

1) When the server is started, I get "LODCTP returned error code 161" error.
2) How should I install this product on NT?
3) How can I save the user database?

Answers:

1) When the server is started, I get "LODCTP returned error code 161" error.
LODCTP.exe is a Windows utility for install/uninstall. When NT4.0 service pack 3 is loaded it changes the behavior and breaks the installer.
SOLUTION: After you see the error message run file:
<server root>\bin\proxy\install\bin\confproxy.exe

2) How should I install this product on NT?
    a) Install a fresh copy of NT server.
    b) Install Proxy Server with Surfpack1&2 (if ver. 2.5, or just 2 if version 2.51).
    c) If applicable, install Smartfilter.
    d) Apply Service Pack 3 for NT 4.0
    e) For the Trend virus scanner, add IE3.02+ with Authenticode 2.0
    f) Install Interscan (Trend), and install the HTTP proxy even though you don't use it.
    g) Reapply sp3.

3) How can I save the user database?
In the Netscape install directory is a directory called authdb. Subdirectories of it have the data for each database. If you save the folder, you should be OK. Note that you can also export your database in the Web interface.
