Miscellaneous Support Tips

Questions:

1) Unix DNS tips?
2) Post.Office relays blocks on large messages
3) How do I authenticate myself to an ftp server through my browser?

Answers:

1) Unix DNS tips?
Note that secondary transfers may take from up to 15 minutes when you restart the daemon. This is a scheduled maintenance period (seen: AIX, BIND 4.9.6). Otherwise do a "ndc reload". "ndc restart" or reboots won't do zone transfers.

2) Post.Office relays blocks on large messages
By default Post.Office queues messages for a specific destination in 1 queue. If the lead message is blocked, then all messages going to same destination will be blocked. For example, if the lead message is too large and destination blocks it then all subsequent messages are blocked.  No resolution. Only thing you can do is go to queue actions menu and make sure "Deliver msgs first" is enabled so it always tries to deliver msg first before queuing..

3) How do I authenticate myself to an ftp server through my browser?
Use the following URL:  ftp://username:password@server/
